If it's only a modem the answer should be no. You'll connect the modem to your choice of router and call your ISP. The ISP should upload a config file to your router and it will hold your public IPs.

 

A bit more information than you we're looking for but oh well.

Ok now, ..... supper silly question....

 

If I have a modem only device that's not a modem/router combo.  Do I need to set the modem to bridge mode?
