Thermal paste on a couple of pins

Say if there was thermal paste on a couple of the ryzen cpu pins. Like 3 right next to them. Would that stop the pc from posting??

If the TIM is electrically conductive and those pins aren't all linked internally then yes. Could even takeout the CPU or Motherboard in worst case scenario.

 

I would say most TIM is not conductive but quite a few aftermarket options are so you may want to test it and clean it off carefully.

Not worth the risk. Spray clean with contact cleaner (isopropyl alcohol in a can)

AMD CPU pins are fairly robust (compared to Intel socket pins).

You wouldn't bent/damage them if you clean gently them with a cloth / Q-tips + isopropyl alcohol.
