error code : 86012 Redmi 5A bootloader unlock

I am not able to bind my MI Account to my device in order to unlock the bootloader on me device.

It always says error code : 86012

I have tried signing in using VPN.

Can anyone help me who has faced the same problem and got rid of the error????

How long has it been since you got the permission ? It takes upto 72 hours to activate. Even more than that sometimes. Also, VPNs doesn't change anything since it totally depends on your account. I suppose you are from India ? or Pakistan ? It takes some time. You can PM me for more info if you want.

Now unlocking a Xiaomi device no longer requires permissions and I am from India

Also, have you enabled OEM Unlocking in developers options ?
