Looking to build a Powerful Creative PC

Hey guys!

Canadian, looking to build a new PC for 3d animation using Maya/Blender, modelling, cpu and realtime rendering,VR, 4k video editing, possibly a bit of gaming (i say build, i mean pay someone else to build it for me!)

I've been reading up on stuff and there's lot's of guides for each individual aspect of what i'll be using it for, but no real system designed to do it all.

Was looking at getting a Corsair Pro One i160 or MSI Trident X Plus, but figure i can get a better setup for less....it just won't be as compact or good looking! Don't want to spend more than $4000 CAD (including tax)

Is waiting a few weeks for a Ryzen 9 3900X crazy? I'm not going to be using this for hours and hours of gaming, so I figure a ryzen 7 or waiting for a ryzen 9 is going to be more bang for my buck(?)

Any advice from other creatives would be great!

You have a nice list but i do recommend waiting for the 3900x because the boards you most likely will get are the higher-end x570 boards will have more features than the older chipsets and the 3900x is a 12c/24t chip which will be great for all the things you will be doing with the PC.

But if you do get the PC now, you have a solid build. :)

mobo, CPU and cooler isnt great atm.

wait for Zen 2 next month.

get a x570 board.

get an aircooler.

get an HP EX920 1TB instead and then a generic mass storage drive. you are overpaying way to hard for storage.

in other words. come back in a month.

i think video editing 4k with rtx 2080ti to overkill, 2080ti sweet spot on editing 8k

at rendering, i suggest you to pick server processor, for concern about durability and stability.

list some part on image, take from here (canadian store)

yeah, i think i can probably hold off until they release the new x570 boards and cpu, especially seeing as the older motherboards won't support after gen 3
