yes, exactly

You should be able to as long as there is no capacitors in the way it should be the left side of the connector. (plug it in with one side hanging off)

There are no PSUs which don't have either a 4pin or a separable 8pin. What is your power supply?

No I believe he means its a 8pin that is connected together (sometimes happens on higher end Psu's)

Use the left side of the connector in the 4 pin if it fits you should be good

And I said such PSUs don't exist. Specifically, all PSUs either have just a single 4pin, or a single 4+4pin, or a single 4pin and a "connected together" 8pin, or two or more 4+4pin cables, which means any of these options makes no problems with a 4pin mobo.

I asked for the model of your power supply.

Maybe he misplaced the cable or got a used psu. anyway the post above shows exactly what I was saying and this pic shows how the pinout is the same on ither side except for the shape

Just like I said, your PSU is no different from others. Its CPU power cable splits in separate 4 pins.
