It's a BTX, you need a btx case.

BTX is ATX in reverse (slots in top instead of bottom).

will this motherboard fit in an unmodded atx case ? If not, which type of case does it require

Probably not, seeing the IO and PCIE placement.

It likely requires a case the same as what it was delivered in, thus a HP Compaq Elite 8200 case.

Keep in mind it has some non-standard power plugs too.. I would suggest you stay away from this, unless you buy a full HP/Dell machine (so including PSU, RAM, CPU, board, case, etc.) and can throw in a GPU. Even then I would not suggest doing that, since the PSU's are likely proprietary (well, the plugs are) meaning you can't change that when your GPU is too power hungry.
