I'm using a vega 56 in my rig should I buy the RX 5700? 

As an upgrade or just keep the vega 56?

I'd just keep the V56, performance gap won't be that big to bother.

It's not really an upgrade from a performance perspective. If you went up to the 5700XT that would offer more of a tangible difference.

There is no real reason to do that.

Next year with the upcoming Navi GPU, maybe. But today probably not...

Not worth the trouble and expense. 

If your Vega has Samsung HBM2, push the memory clock to 950 Mhz, GPU clocks to around 1600-1650 (depending on your cooling) and you are already at that level, if not higher.

I would say no.

 

I am looking to upgrade to the RX 5700 XT from my RX 580 depending on how the reviews go.

 

It's not enough of an uplift from a Vega 56 to justify upgrading, unless you aren't getting the frame rates you want.
