Hello, I'm looking to get into light video creation for YouTube/personal use. I have a tight budget of around $100 up to like $150) any ideas?

If you have a recent phone, that will most likely be a better use of your money to save the 150 and just use your phone. 

You can even buy lens attachments if you want wide angle, fish eye, macro or something similar on your phone.

I have my dad's crappy old work phone so that's unfortunately a no-go

If it's vlogging, you won't want larger camera with huge amounts of zoom. So a used, compact camera would be ideal for your scenario.

I went onto eBay and simply 'Panasonic Lumix', which is their line of compact digital cameras. One of the first results was a Lumix DMC-SZ10. It does 1080p stabilised video, 16mp pictures, and it has an upward flipping screen so you can see yourself whilst you record....and it was £60 buy it now, which is a little below your budget after conversion.

Not recommending that exact camera, I don't have experience with it. But it seems to fit teh bill pretty well. I don't think you need to spend a load to find something that matches your requirements.

used is probably your best bet then.

If you live in US, then Ebay and Craigslist are where you should start. 

Look for an old Cannon Rebel, Sony Alpha, or Nikon D series if you want a camera with interchangable lenses.

@BrinkGG I think maybe a non-SLR camera would be a better start, if we're going from scratch on the photography side. Older SLR's aren't the best for video especially the Nikons, and it's easy to go over the limited budget.

Although a 'bridge' camera would be a happy compromise between compact and SLR, as they're also relatively small and readily available.

Do you have any prior experience with cameras? It isn't a bad idea to go find old ones, just take the necessary precautions on buying online.

$100 to $150 isn't a lot of money to work with. You are probably looking at a used, older model camera. If you can increase the budget to $300+ dollars, that gets you into something more decent, such as a refurbished Canon EOS M100 with the kit 15-45mm lens.
