Had a false start as my monitor only had a DVI cable on it, and this card didn't have a DVI output, so took a bit of time to find a spare DP cable and find where the socket is on the monitor. But working now... Here's what a 1650 does at folding. I have no idea on units so will leave that to those more involved to work out if this is any good. I wish I wrote it down but I think this is similar ball park PPD to 1060 3GB and RX 580, but this is way lower power.

Specific model is Gigabyte GV-N1650OC-4GD which I chose as a double fan model, and there looks like more heatsink area for it to work with. There's no heatpipes so I'm not sure how much the heat will actually spread across the whole area though.

PPD estimate has dropped to 307k but I have been watching stuff on youtube on that system if that steals many processing cycles from it... and moments later, it is back to 332k again. I'm gonna stop looking at it now...

I'm not even sure what my 970 pulls, but according to online specs its about 145 alone and gets about 350kppd, though it's under clocked right now, so it's probably more like 100w/300kppd

Also @Nicnac @Ithanul @Dissitesuxba11s @themctipers should fire up their rigs soon ;)

Issues came up right as this event was going to start.

My A/C unit decided to stop.  Bad capacitor with also it almost becoming fully discharged.  Guess the hurricane must of done something to it last year and was until now that it went belly up on some areas.

Have A/C back now.  But oof, sleeping in 89-92F even on the couch on the bottom floor was rough.  Darn humidity being the most rough part.

Since I miss the event, I will just run some of my GPUs this week to help push some points out for the team.

OK, so maybe Pho for dinner wasn’t such a good idea with 29C weather but when you have to eat it in your underwear in the basement then perhaps it’s time to turn on the A/C.

The 35 year-old 1 ton heat exchnger fired up with nary a squeak so we’ll have to wait a few hours for it to drop the humidity and temps inside.

Luckily personal use of marijuana is legal here now so I don’t have to worry about the cops kicking in the door looking for a grow op based my my electric bills ?

i reached my my personal goal of top 5 on the team this morning so I’m going to further power limit the GPUs and remove the all-core overclocks on the CPUs.

IT IS OFFICIALLY SUMMER HERE!
