Windows 10 not installing to new PC

frankh_100

Hi. I have just built a new PC and have tried to install Windows 10 through Gigabyte BIOS. However, every time I try to install it I get the following messages:

File: \windows\System32\drivers\evbda.sys

Status: 0xc0000098

Info: The operating system couldn't be loaded because a critical system driver is missing or contains errors.

I am using the USB which I bought online from Microsoft and I am trying to install the 64 bit version. Here are my PC specs:

CPU:  Intel 13-8100@3.6GHZ 4 core

GPU: EVGA Geforce GTX1060 6GB

Motherboard: Gigabyte B360M MATX

Cooler: Cryorig C7 92mm

RAM: Transcend 8GB DDR4

HDD: Barracuda 1TB

SSD: WD Green 240GB

PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA 550W

Case: Segotep X1 ATX MidTower

I have done a lot of changing around of settings in BIOS and double checked to make sure that the system is correctly booting to the USB, and as far as I am aware, all my settings are correct. It would be great if I could get some help on this as currently I have no idea why this is happening. Thanks for your help :)

How old is that installation media? it might be an old version that's been released before B360.

I'd recommend obtaining the newest installation directly from M$

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

That should work without a hitch.

I bought it with the PC parts a week ago, so I would assume it's the latest version of windows. I will try downloading it onto another usb and see if that works.

It's also possible that the install media is corrupt.  Trying a new one would be the first step in troubleshooting.

You can also use large database of similar installation problem - this forum and its search function. Problem may be different, but solution is always similar.
