4806 CB points in CB20.

 

Intel was 3726 CB points.

It was a price comparison only; they should have compared it against the 9900k like they did at computex but I guess they didn't like the results

I dunno -- my 2700X scores 4596 at 4.4GHz.  So if it was running around 4.1GHz ~ 4.2GHz all-core with its normal boost behavior then 4806 seems pretty strong.

I'm still hopeful for 3X50 skus.  Like the 16c sku perhaps being 3950X.  Also, hopeful that overclocking will be closer to what Intel can achieve.  ie closer to the highest boost speed on all cores.  

 

The attractiveness of chiplet design is the higher yield potential so with refinement in the process we might see sexier numbers for clock speeds.  Fingers crossed at least.

Honestly, I wish folks would abandon TDP goals and simply let their CPUs run wild.  There are two market segments where TDP matters and the enthusiast desktop segment isn't one.

Sure the 9900K would score a little higher than the 3700X, but at the same time look at the difference in the price. From what I've seen, they're putting a $330 price tag on the 3700X, while the 9900K is $485 on Amazon right now. That's roughly 30% cheaper, but as far as I know, the Cinebench the scores aren't anywhere near 30% higher either. My 7700K scores 2457 in Cinebench R20 and even that still costs $365 on Amazon, so if you think of the value and the performance of Ryzen, AMD are doing a really good thing here.

 

With that being said, who knows what Intel's 10th gen lineup could have in store, but the one thing I can say is that I expect them to be expensive.
