Late Addition: there's a rehearsal in the early parts of the livestream (prior to start) and the following was mentioned:

  • 8c16T part mentioned

  • Cinebench R20 run, PUBG run

... crap they took the stream down ,_,

Things to expect:

Quote
  • Navi teaser? (posited to be announced at E3 as part of AMD's Next GAMING Horizon)
  • RYZEN 3000
    • Single Die 4c 6c 8c
    • Dual-die? 2x 6c? 2x 8c!?
    • Surprise 6nm? (TSMC announced their 7nm process is forward-compatible with 6nm)
    • What's public so far:
      • AMD's 8c16T demo at CES (vs a TDP-unlimited 9900K)
      • SISsoft Sandra benchmark result of a 4c8T processor (R3 or Athlon?)
    • Zen+ APUs? (the R3 3300G and R5 3600G)
      • rumored to be 6C12t and 8C16t respectively
    • Note to self
  • Zen 2 EPYC release
  • Threadripper 3000 teaser
    • oh dear it got delisted o_o
  • Lots of screaming
  • Someone bites another person from uncontrolled hype

... Need I say more? 12 / 16 cores on mainstream desktop makes a super affordable "low-end" workstation

Still waiting on Threadripper 3000. if I were to pop for one now I'd be looking at the 2950X currently, so levelling my expectations when it comes to a 16 core part (would they even do 2 dies? 16 cores over 4 dies would mean 4-core R3s on all of them, and that makes less sense than the purported 16c 3900X). Probably would be looking at 24 cores in 6x4 form (although I worry about the clockspeeds. I might go clockspeed first this time round if there's such an option on the lower counts on TR3000)

Spoiler

Intel must be likesource.gif.02aa6926dd4a42cba1fdb5b7c6713b9d.gif

I've extremely hyped right now. Intel needs some serious competition in high end gaming chips.  AMD stole Intel's place in mid range options, now (Hopefully) they aim for high end.

Main system: i7 8700k 5Ghz / Asus Prime Z370-A / Corsair Vengeance 2x8GB 3000Mhz / Gigabyte RTX2080 Aorus Extreme / EVGA 750W GQ / Fractal Design Meshify C

I'm not buying 2 chips, either they release a 16 core sku or I keep waiting until they do
