Now, as mean as this might sound, it's a legitimate question. If I'm even a little tired I find myself falling asleep during Steve's videos. Nothing against his content, it's very informative and some of the best for what it is.

His voice though. So monotone, and I just knock right out.

How about you guys? Ever fall asleep watching a Gamer's Nexus video?

AdoredTV is what makes me sleepy. Somehow my brain decides to quit while trying to decode Jim's heavy accent.

Technically, Steve is amazing at the information he presents.. however he can be a bit on the condescending side IMO and lacking in the humor, but thats just how his channel is. About presenting the facts as they are without trying to spin things to make them more interesting. I cant say ive ever fallen asleep to his videos, but I have stopped watching them at times because it was giving me the wrong itch.

Hes' gotten a lot better, but oh man, some of his older videos....

Put in some headphones and head to sleep. There's a reason why most of the roasts directed at him were for boring sounding videos.

Honestly I watch his videos at 1.5 or 2x speed. Not to make the video go faster, but just so that it makes my brain actually want to take the information in :D

Yes, but technically I've gone to sleep with most of the channels in my YT favourites... If I feel sleepy I just chuck YT on the TV and let it run.

Stopped watching it months ago as I couldn't take the levels of negativity he emits. He does tend to linger on things for way too long. Is that a cunning plan to increase watch times on the tube?

I feel like he tries to be impartial with his tone, but it comes off as uninterested. His videos that make fun of stuff are really entertaining though.

Nope, Steve is too boring to watch long enough to fall asleep.

Come Bloody Angel

Break off your chains

And look what I've found in the dirt.

Pale battered body

Seems she was struggling

Something is wrong with this world.

Fierce Bloody Angel

The blood is on your hands

Why did you come to this world?

Everybody turns to dust.

Everybody turns to dust.

The blood is on your hands.

The blood is on your hands!

Pyo.

I only watched a few of their videos when I was really interested by the topic but if there's an article related to the video I'd go for it. That's actually the case for most YouTube channels which also have a blog, like Hardware Unboxed.

I'm one of those people who just can't randomly fall asleep. The only two situations where I can fall asleep is when I've deliberately laid down to sleep, or if I'm really tired and sitting in a moving car. I do totally get what you're saying about their speech and yes, I do also feel it's kind of boring to listen to, though.

I've slowly stopped watching the the channel.  The topics are either repetitive, late or just not relevant the majority of the time.  Way too many drawn out case reviews or entry/mid-range video cards that only matter if you are in the market.  At that, if the product reviews were 2-3 minutes tops and had a huge library, then it would be beneficial for research, but not as daily entertainment.  That's where the other tech channels are doing laps around GN.  Linus, Jay, Paul and the others mix it up enough.  He also goes overboard with a certain topic instead of a single high quality video.  Do I really need to watch 30 minutes of videos to find out way the handful of 2080 Ti's they looked into died?

The other thing I really don't get about the channel are great plans to do PSU testing, new location and so on, but the content and quality is pretty much the same over the last 3 years.  At least LTT has grown in content and quality after expanding.  Maybe that's why his subscriber counts are still behind other similar channels and not really growing.

I can't fall asleep while watching a video unless I'm both tired and super drunk.

That being said, GN is all about presenting technical information in an impartial way. I don't think of it in the same entertainment way as I think of LTT, JayZ, and so on. HardwareUnboxed would probably be the middle ground between entertainment and GN-style highly technical videos.

I have, many times. But mostly because I watch Youtube in bed and I often go to bed really late. So, basically it can happen to anything I watch then :D I usually rewatch them next day from about where I still remember it.

I watch on my AppleTV, so it just plays video after video..used to be new ones, but now it loops, so I'll get Linus talks about the new mac, we built a mac pro, and the SPUD over and over til I wake up, often influencing my dreams.

Sometimes. Usually I only fall asleep watching a GN video if I'm really tired.

That being said, I do find that occasionally Steve droning on about computer hardware and benchmarks is a good way to fall asleep.
