Help me choose an encryption method

Have a 970 Evo NVMe I'm resetting before getting the Windows May update. I usually encrypt all of my hard drives, but using third party software encryption methods has become frustrating due to major Windows updates refusing to install on encrypted devices. Since this is for my gaming PC I'm looking for the method that has the least impact on performance (Sorry VeraCrypt). I also have access to bit-locker because of Windows 10: Education edition (If anyone goes to a supported college you can get a copy of it for free, its basically Windows 10: Pro). I also believe Samsung SSD's allow for some kind of hardware encryption, but I'm not sure how to use it.
