Buying new graphics card

sparkeeh
Go to solution Solved by sparkeeh,

thanks for the replies, i will probably go with 1660 ti

My graphics card just broke and I need a new one. I was looking at GTX 1660(260€), GTX 1660 Ti(300€) and RX 590(290€), brand doesn't really matter I guess. I just want to know which card is best bang for the buck, is there enough of a difference between normal and Ti version, to justify 40€. Don't play new AAA games so you don't need to worry about my setup.

Thanks

Best bang for your buck is a RX 570 or a RX 580.

For what I've heard, you can get similar performance of a 1660Ti with a overclocked 1660, but you have to win the silicon lottery

And the RX 590 for 290€ is just a nono

I recommend the RTX 2060 or Vega 56 if you want to play at 1440p 60fps, Vega 64 or GTX 1080 if you are lucky to find a good deal

The 1070 Ti is similar to the RTX 2060 so if you can find it cheaper, go for it

If you just want a bang for the buck for 1080p gaming, get the RX 580 8GB

My budget is max 300€... RTX 2060 is around 450€, Vega 56 is 400€, 1070 Ti is 480€... I don't get whats wrong with RX 590 if its the same price as RX 580?

Online stores? Where do you live?

Slovenia, prices are very weird... Don't want to order from another country.

The 590 might be really expensive where your at.  Settle for a 570 or 580 max.  As far as nVidia the 2060 cost more then a 570 or 580 and is not the best bang for your buck.

Well, why don't you just look at Amazon Italy? www.amazon.it you would be covered by their warranty

for 300€ I'd get the 1660 Ti

well amazon.it has same prices as stores im looking at... so i guess i should go for 1660 ti?

Spot checked a few different titles in this review, and the performance gap is on average around 10-15% between the Ti and non-Ti variant, which is in line with the 11% marginal price difference. To put it another way, your average raw framerate will therefore scale pretty consistently 1% for every 1€.

Would also have to consider your resolution at your preferred settings. For instance, the GTX 1660 struggles below 60fps at 1440P in some cases, so I couldn't recommend it over 1080P.

I'd sell you my ROG STRIX RX 580 for 180 euro, but im in the US so the shipping would probably make it unreasonable :(

Brands I wholeheartedly reccomend (though do have flawed products): Apple, Razer, Corsair, Asus, Gigabyte, bequiet!, Noctua, Fractal, GSkill (RAM only)

if the 590 is the same price as the 580, with a 300dollar budget, check how much the vega 56 is first, if it's over, go with the 590 or the 1660 and overclock it.

There is nothing wrong with a 590.  Its a smaller process 580 that's going to perform like 10-15% better than a 580.
