Whats the oldest Laptop or PC you still use regularly?

How many of you guys still find use for old PC's and laptops? How old is the unit that is still running? What do you use your old PC for?

I am typing this forum post on a decade old laptop that is running Lubuntu linux. This old Dell has a duel core Pentium cpu, 4 gigs of ddr3, SSD, a newer battery. Its usable as day to day web surfing, music streaming, emailing mule.

Now a days, my 2014 Macbook Air.

Though, used to use laptops from 2008-2010 as soon as last semester.

Brands I wholeheartedly reccomend (though do have flawed products): Apple, Razer, Corsair, Asus, Gigabyte, bequiet!, Noctua, Fractal, GSkill (RAM only)

Wall Of Fame (Informative people/People I like): @Glenwing @DrMacintosh @Schnoz @TempestCatto @LogicalDrm @Dan Castellaneta

Mainly using my X99 rig, but my old 2011 one (i5-2500, Z77 MoBo) is lately being used more and more.

I am looking into moving over completely from Win7 to Linux.  The old rig is great for testing stuff without having to resort to dualboot.  With a modern GPU (I had a couple of 1070s left over from mining so that was a no-brainer) it's still pretty good for 1440p gaming.

The oldest that belongs to me is a beated up lenovo ideapad 100-15ibd that I got for 50 bucks that got some love (upgraded to 16gigs of ram and got ssd) and now I use it as a htpc.

The one I used the most is a razer blade which I accidentally broke the keyboard and now the sits comfortably behind the TV.

Hey, as a student I still use a 2006 white plastic macbook with a core 2 duo and 4 gigs of RAM. It does pretty well, and I expect to keep it as long as I can. It's already 13-14 yo. XD

Still have and daily use my Lenovo Y580, 8 years old now. Was a beast when i got it and a bargain, well i thought so anyway, i7 3630qm, gtx660m, 8gb of ram, 1TB HDD, 1080p panel, alloy body, AMAZING built in JBL speakers and a blu-ray drive, all for just 999USD, back in 2012. Have done a few upgrades since, Kingston SSD instead of the old 7200rpm WD it had, and a 128gb sata Nvme as an extra, added more ram, and managed to get it working 100% with windows 10, as officially Lenovo never released drivers for it past windows 8.1. It mainly acts as my on the go photo editing rig, as well as a workhorse for any mobile university work, oh and as a portable speaker for the shower, because the built-in JBL speakers impress me to this day, not only with the clarity but volume! Its not that impressive in benchmarks anymore but using it still feels as smooth and as snappy as ever.
