Edge is... actually GOOD now!?

Microsoft Edge is now Chromium-based, and the web hath frozen over. So, is the new Edge worth trying now, or is it all just a gimmick?

Chromium is still pretty good, way more solid than old Brave Browser. I just don't like the UI that much on mozilla.

i'm on regular chromium and i'll probably stick with it. it's got chrome's performance but with all the google crap stripped out. it's such a light browser i love it.

lol chrome performs and has always performed very well for me. it's been a lot faster than firefox anyway.

that's what i'm saying. chrome in my experience is faster than firefox.

i honestly don't get why people use chrome over FF and i never felt any difference in speed

i just uninstalled that borderline malware/spyware you call chrome, since like clockwork it used to run that stupid scan that would hog all of my cpu, not to mention it literally scanned your PC for whatever reason people were guessing it was doing at

shame lots of software try to sneak it in with those sneaky check boxes

I’ve been using the dev beta of this browser for a while, and I have a few complaints:

• The toolbar is too tall, causing less screen real estate
• Sites like Google load infinitely, even when the entire page and all resources have been downloaded
• Lots of good Edge features are missing
• Lack of theme support
• You can only sync with a Microsoft account
• Google apps call it an “unsupported browser”

And, at least in my opinion, it just seems like they preinstalled Chrome and added a custom theme. Don’t use it to replace Chrome.

Just found out the macOS alpha came out yesterday, so I went ahead and got it. I quite like it; I might switch.

There's a huge problem in the UI though:

In my case, I’ve never had that issue. It must be a malicious extension, and the only software scans are manual. People use chrome for the wider extension library.
