Which Nvidia driver are you currently using ?

I am still using 399.07 and have been using it since ive got my GTX 1060 6GB.

Now I want to play Metro: Exodus and I see that the game freezes when I play it and I have a Ryzen 2600x 16GB ram.

So I was wondering if it really is true that the new drivers actually reduce performance of the newer cards. Should I upgrade to the new 430.?? driver ?

Let me see what you guys think !

You can always roll back to the previous drivers if you have issues with the new one.

Main system: i7 8700k 5Ghz / Asus Prime Z370-A / Corsair Vengeance 2x8GB 3000Mhz / Gigabyte RTX2080 Aorus Extreme / EVGA 750W GQ / Fractal Design Meshify C

That performance reduction stuff is bullcrap

I've got a GTX 980TI on the latest drivers and just ran some benchmarks and compared them to 8 months ago.

No change.

I mean at some point releasing drivers that are compatible with cards from 10 years ago.  I would still update tho because a new game will come out and give issues with the current drivers so you upgrade every there is a WHQL release to be on safe side.  Also its recommend to use DDU then install the drivers.

Drivers aren't always just to improve performance in what's currently out.  Many times they're for other software to actually work w/the hardware and/or to be compatible w/new games that're released, which'll just literally allow them to work in the first place; not improve framerate or any other kind of performance.
