i7 7700k w/ h100i v2 getting up to 90 C under stress

so i just ran a video export (i make youtube vids) and i had to cancel it because the temps on hwinfo were reading 90+ C, i have 2 silent wings 3 high speed fans on it and it is reaching like i said 90 c exporting a video at 1080p, ive basically narrowed it down to the h100i v2... ive moved the pc, ive changed thermal paste 2 times, and ive changed coolers to an h212 evo

 

 

btw this is at stock 4.2ghz

 

help!! what could be causing this?

Sounds like a dying pump on the H100i. Even if you can feel it working, it is not at all impossible for a pump to "work" but not maintain the water flow in order to avoid heat soaking.

 

Delidding will also help a lot, but I would imagine you have heard that 100 times now.

Brands I wholeheartedly reccomend (though do have flawed products): Apple, Razer, Corsair, Asus, Gigabyte, bequiet!, Noctua, Fractal, GSkill (RAM only)

im building a new pc anyways but wanted to know why and if there was a problem if i could fix it... yes 100 times lol

IIRC the H100i v2 is a kind of old cooler by now, which aids to my theory that the pump is simply weak

in my new build im leaning towards a 8700k would the h100x be a better cooler... or should i opt for an air cooler

Dark Pro 4 is pretty beast aswell, and cosmetically more appealing than the NHD15 imo.
