New Keyboard from Ducky, "Ducky Freedom"

Ducky revealed a new keyboard on their Facebook page, they called it "Ducky Freedom". As the name implied, you can moved around freely with this keyboard as it is a wireless mechanical keyboard. But what's interesting is that besides bluebooth and USB (USB-C), it supports 2.4GHz wireless as well.

 

Besides, it has a new exterior design, with durable seamless PBT double shot keycaps, 3-stages keyboard stand, and Cherry MX switches. Of course, RGB is available on this keyboard. But it was only available when it was plugged in via usb, RGB backlit won't be available when the keyboard was connected wirelessly.

 

No words on pricing, config and release date of this keyboard, but it will be shown on Computex 2019, as it was stated on the facebook post.

Ya, I just want to see more optical switches. I want my next keyboard to use optical switches.

Maybe I don't check out keyboards enough... but that seems like a really odd symbol for caps lock.

 

I wonder if the 2.4Ghz is a propriety protocol going to a USB dongle like most, or if its 2.4ghz WiFi to an AP... Never thought of it til now, but being able to connect the keyboard to WiFi and have a program on different computers to switch between would actually be really handy in some cases. We have a computer in a server room with a display in there and mirrored display going out to a conference room, and the keyboard gets weird sometimes in the conference room due to distance, WiFi connection would work really well in that use case.

It also needs a speaker built in that makes a bald eagle cry for every key press and to have the smell of deep fried food.

 

Oh hell, can't forget, it has to have a beer can holder built in too.
