The G502 with the PWM 3366 sensor does the job fine, there's not really any reason to get the HERO version unless you want the newer logo, I suppose.

I've owned my G502 for around one and a half years and it's still going strong to this day.

G502 HERO is the worst of the G502 variant. Its a pointless upgrade from the spectrum.

Dont buy it.

I had a G502 Spectrum which I loved, but I snapped the left click off after about 2 years (My fault, I am an aggressive clicker). So I replaced it with the HERO. It's just the more up-to date version of the Spectrum. New Logo, new sensor. I'm pretty sure they're about the same price. There's no reason to get a Spectrum over the HERO, if it's one over the other get the HERO. If you already had a Spectrum there wouldn't be a need to upgrade.

The only reason to go for a Hero version is if you get the lightspeed. The is almost 0 difference between the 3366 and the Hero sensor, since it is basically the same.

Looking at the mouse you had previously, I'd just get the HERO, it's just the newer version of the Proteus Spectrum and it's cheaper. And their model is pretty similar to what you had already, so it won't take you as long to adjust to it.

I use side buttons a lot, and I've never had them break on me, but obviously it may be different from your experience but I am quite an aggressive clicker tbh.

If they were to break on you I'd be surprised, they are quite strong mice.
