Help finding new mecha keyboard

Recommended Posts

I am currently shopping for a new mechanical keyboard, since I unfortunately spilled a cup of wine on my old mechanical gigabyte (not quite sure which one it was by now, but iirc it rocked Kailh reds, which I enjoyed but I am totally open to trying another switches).

So I have been looking through tons of different mechanical keyboards and switches and it is really quite overwhelming.

My budget is around 135 euros and I dont really use my PC in any extraordinary way like hardcore editing or gaming or whatever. Mostly a bit of all just for fun.

The gigabyte I had could only change through few solid colors and while that was fine for the time being, since it costed me like 60 euros or so when I bought it, I'd really enjoy full RGB experience this time. Another thing to keep in mind is that I am rocking logitech g560 so it would be nice to get something from logitech so I can synchronize the two peripherals with one software, but I am open to ideas. I also have absolutely zero use for macro keys or stand alone media keys and I need my numpad. I also want the keyboard to be quite heavy and preferably with metal finish on the top, since I just love how cool the metal feels and looks.

Right now my top choice is Logi G513 Tactile, since it seems to be just at the right price point while checking out basically everything on my list. Does anyone have any personal experience with this keyboard and if so, would you recommend it? What about the Romer-G switches? Are they nice to type and game on? Or does anyone have any other suggestion for new keyboard?

I would preferably go and try different types of switches personally, but unfortunately nowhere near where I live is a shop, that has high quality mechanical keyboards on display to test out and I seriously don't feel like ordering switch tester, since they are somewhat costly imo. But as I said, I found the Kailh reds nice to work with, though I don't mind exploring with another type.

"Here is some advice that might have gotten lost somewhere along the way in your life.

#1. Treat others as you would like to be treated.

#2. It's best to keep your mouth shut; and appear to be stupid, rather than open it and remove all doubt.

#3. There is nothing "wrong" with being wrong. Learning from a mistake can be more valuable than not making one in the first place.

A Corsair K70 RGB MK.2 with Cherry MX brown switches will be in line with your top choice.  If you want tactile feedback along with a click, you can opt for blue switches.  Depending if you have other Corsair DIY components, you can control them and the K70 all with the iCUE software.
