IOBit Installs Products that you didnt Opt-In

I was using a product called Smart Defrag and for my system, it works very well. 

But yesterday. I was using my computer and this was on my taskbar. 
 

First of all, i have not installed this product called "Advanced SystemCare" in my system.

Not even sure why you want a defrag tool anyway, Windows has one built-in.

I use Driver Booster and so far no issues. I will keep an eye on it. Thanks for the heads up.

95% of those programs that supposedly speed up your system or help keep it up to date are just bloat that doesn't actually do what they advertise and are NOT recommended to use. My father in law use to use them all the time and I would uninstall them constantly on his systems and try and explain them to him.

Defrag replacements are all well and good..

Some are legit better than others..

 

But most programs using a SUITE of Apps, are bullshit annoying as they want more Control than they need..

My point here is that. I did not install Advanced System Care but it was downloading in the background.

They are installing things in the background without your consent.

 

 

(P.S.) Smart Defrag is the only product i use because it works well with my system. windows defragmentation and defraggler doesnt give a noticeable difference with my pc.

I guess at this point they are doing what CCleaner and Adobe are doing. Though that only happens if you are using internal updater for Smart Defrag. If you use installer, you can opt-out (you opt-in by default, as in many other products). I'm with you by using Smart Defrag. I've used 3rd party defrag since Vista days when MS failed their otherwise excellent defrag tool. I've used, and paid for, other IObit stuff too, but those do very little good in modern PC.
