Kotaku in general is one of worse news out outlets, mostly due to their SJW propaganda, and I mean that quite literally. I'll be the first one to admit that they had good articles but many more are pure crap. They essentially carried the spirit of Gawker who owned them, who had to declare bankruptcy due to losing a lawsuit from Hulk Hogan of $140M due to a published sex tape. Their arguments the freedom of press, while at the same time posting SJW articles how no one should criticize women (and LGBT iirc, but don't quote me on that) and they were one of center pieces of Gamergate controversy. There was a settlement after with Hulk Hogan. That is just one example. They are up there with Polygon.

Most recent one was their moronic Persona 5 song article.

Wrong. Im not that familiar with Kotaku itself, but Jason (the writer) is very respected and also the story blew up so much that even BioWare confirmed it to a certain extent.

So many people complaining about the "wage gap" that companies like google start paying women more. Next thing we know these companies don't realize that they're underpaying men. Haven't heard any uproar about this on any social media. the .72 cents per dollar statistic is widely in-accurate because it doesn't account for part time vs full time labor, women typically work part time more often than men due to children. I'm all for equality and if I see it will I will side with the abused, but at this point in America we have it better than ever, but with this culture of hate it won't be for long.

As I said, it's related to the quote you posted. But not really directly to you. I just have something I wanted to vent basically. It's more aimed at those that think that you could remove all opinions for everything and still run a country on that. The thing is, you can not.

 

Even if you take away feelings, there are a lot of people, on both sides that have an opinion but says that opinion is a fact because it's based on a fact, but is not in itself one.

 

And lot of problems society has, has multiple way to be solved/improved, that all have some negative or positive factual outcomes. Different people can value those differently and therefore wanting the different solutions or even not wanting any of them because the main problems don't affect them. That is in my opinion what opinion is, how much you value some outcomes or things based on others. How much you value something is somewhat based on how much you know about it, but it's not everything.

I think all people with common sense agree that all opinions should be heard and considered. Not all opinions are equal though, and that's something to keep in mind.
Surely some opinions are more thoughtful, more informed, more coherent, and more important than others...
