HyperX Cloud Core mic picking up external sound

Recommended Posts

I have had my HyperX Cloud Core headset for a couple months now, and it's been great. But something thats really been bugging me is the mic has stopped picking up my voice. I think its only in Discord, but it picks up on the fans of my PC, and when I listened to it it seems to be the usb plug for the mic is picking up on the audio, not the actual mic. Ive tried reinstalling drivers, plugging into the front ports, reinstalling discord, but nothing has worked. Help pls!

I'm not sure about Cloud Core, but my Alphas had a problem with mic when the cable wasn't put in tight enough. Also I had a problem where my mic was picking other sounds(from the PC like the game sounds, not environment I am in) besides my voice, that's a hardware problem with the 4-pole jack called crosstalk, atleast from what I've googled. The only solution, that doesn't work perfectly unfortunately, is to lower the headset volume from the headset itself and increase it from windows. Also enable "noise suppression" and "acoustic echo cancellation"(this one is really important) of mic properties in recording devices, it kinda helped for me. I guess you can give this a try, hopefully it will work for you.
