Gamer meld said something about navi's architecture is going to be "GCN" again does that mean it's not worth waiting for it any more?

I'm waiting to get a gpu if it ain't worth waiting for I'm aiming to get a Radeon Vii

If performance/price is great does it matter if it still GCN? Assuming you don't need nuclear reactor to power it.

Yes it is GCN. Recent Linux open source driver confirmed that.

The answer is simple. Its worth waiting for until its actually out to be reviewed.

Everything now is speculation.

Brands I wholeheartedly reccomend (though do have flawed products): Apple, Razer, Corsair, Asus, Gigabyte, bequiet!, Noctua, Fractal, GSkill (RAM only)

Wall Of Fame (Informative people/People I like): @Glenwing @DrMacintosh @Schnoz @TempestCatto @LogicalDrm @Dan Castellaneta

There's really nothing to talk about until AMD says something.

7nm polaris again wouldn't be the worst thing ever though.

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Not news if it has yet to happen, you only have to worry about bad news on release day

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

consider how long it takes till navi comes out, it shall have "better value".

and radeon vii is like the the prototype of navi,

imo its worth waiting, at least no regrets

Assuming you are looking to upgrade, and can currently play the games you want to at some passable level, I would say wait at least until computex. Computex starts next month so you never know.

Of course it's worth waiting for. ESPECIALLY the low end part. The 1650 is ripping everybody off and gets given a smacking by the rx 570. That low end Navi part is the savior the budget gamers have been waiting for. If the rx 570 can slap the 1650 all over then the low end Navi part will well and truly teach it a lesson. 100$ for low end Navi matching a 1060/580 is a steal, and I think it's fairly realistic to expect that kind of performance. And even if it's below those expectations, it will STILL show the 1650 who's boss.

As for the higher end Navi cards, that's looking unsure at this point. We've had rumors of vega 56 levels, rtx 2070 levels, 2080 levels...could be anything at this point. My guess is a card that falls short of rtx 2070 and instead matches vega 64 for $300. $250 would be great but I can't see it.
