Help with a *supposively* fried MOBO

I replaced a mobo for a friend and in retern my friend gave me her old mobo.  It is a Gigabyte  GA-MA785GM-US2H.

 

When plugged into my testbench it spins but doesnt post with integrated graphics.  i checked the caps but they all seem in tact.

 

Any ideas?

Check the RAM, CPU, PSU etc to eliminate them before you assume your motherboard is dead.

Cpu works om another mobo.  it must be fried

i have a suspition that a GPU might get it working.

Check the PSU. Did she hook up everything correctly?

Well if she says she smelled smoke, there is a pretty good chance it is fried, look along the rails or mofsets for any burn marks.
