Can i use multiple headphones on a mixer?

NotMrTaco

I am trying to start a podcast with a couple of my buddies, and I was gonna have multiple mics obviously, but I'm trying to figure out how to get the sound of each mic to different headphones, so we can hear ourselves. The microphone's I am wanting to start it up are neewer nw-700's as well an Alesis or behringer mixer that supports the 4 mics. Im not trying to spend a lot of money as we don't have much to begin with.

No, mixers usually only have one or two aux outputs.

Then you use one set of headphones and switch which mic you're listening to with the aux knobs on each channel.

Image result for behringer

oh okay, is there anyway you can connect it to a specific device that allows more than 2 pairs of headphones? Or is that not a thing?

It depends on the mixer. You're not likely going to find anything with 4 individually controllable outputs on a low end board.

Larger mixers will sometimes have additional output groups in addition to the stereo/mono out and talk back (headphone) out, but those are also much more expensive. ($1,000+ easily.)

Seeing how you're wanting to use condenser mics, they'll need phantom power. Make sure your mixer supports phantom power on at least four channels for the four mics.

Is there a reason you're wanting to only hear yourself (and the same for the others only hearing themselves) opposed to everyone hearing everyone?

As for outputting to multiple headphones, check this out: https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/HA400--behringer-microamp-ha400-4-ch-headphone-amplifier?mrkgcl=28&mrkgadid=3157640904&rkg_id=0&product_id=HA400&campaigntype=shopping&campaign=aaShopping - Not In Stock&adgroup=Studio & Recording&placement=google&adpos=1o3&creative=105593158321&device=c&matchtype=&network=g&gclid=CjwKCAjwzPXlBRAjEiwAj_XTEYfFGeKBPIiHX0cwo0HN_ugqI7fYe9Yk8p1-68RnnJf8syhFGvBP1hoCxVYQAvD_BwE

You can use a digital mixer with many outputs to route each mic input to an individual output, then have headphones connected to that output.

Something like a Midas M32 would work.
