If you are frame limited by your cpu, it would be very little to no difference.

Depends on game. 900p has 35% more pixels to draw. And depends on hardware too. If you are tight with GPU to deliver, then it might be 20-30fps between the two. But you can usually achieve same cap just by tweaking graphic settings.

Based on my own testings years ago, I'd rather take more pixels with less graphical detail and playable fps than other way around.

yeah though I prefer to keep my graphical detail atleast at medium settings.Thanks

Not much. Though that too will depend on game. If game is more GPU intensive, then OCing will have more effect than if game is more on CPU.

actually it is probably more than that. He's counting only the vertical difference. Obviously you will have more pixel wide too.

1280x720 = 921,600

1600x900 = 1,440,000

that is actually a 64% ratio not 80% if you count horizontally too.

So this require actually 56% more power to drive that resolution. Your are possibly cutting by half your FPS

Tbh you could find a game with resolution scaling option, and at 720p raise that slider to 133% to simulate running 900p

That card can probably handle 60fps at medium settings running at 720p, but I can't say for sure with 900p. Do you have a 720 or 900p monitor?

Although, like others have said, it really does depend on the game so it's hard to say.
