Trends on Linus fora

Hey,

so i'm currently a member for somewhat months. In these months i have seen Linus slowly disappearing from his own video's and I've noticed different 'trends' when roaming the forums..
everybody experiencing bad performance with certain parts or a lot of people talking about coilwhine…. I guess it is random enough though I am curious about what lies beyond these experiences? 
Stupid kids trying to be part of a community... or in another view , community post popularity stress? or maybe bots to show the community as being alive and very popular while it is basically the 6 same people who always talk? 
What do you think? 
Am I just being  completely ignorant here, is it coincidence? or do I just see stuff which is not true?

This entire forum is people asking about:

  • Bottlenecks
  • "Is my PSU enough???"
  • LTT (now TQ too) clickbait titles
  • Intel vs AMD/AMD vs Nvidia
  • "When will RAM/GPU/Intel CPU prices drop again?"
  • "Is this obvious eBay scam an obvious eBay scam?"
  • "Does this upcoming product perform better than what I have now" (e.g. is Zen 2 better than product x, things we couldn't tell you now..)

Just ignore these topics!

 

I, for example, enjoy reading posts from @wasab and @BuckGup just to name two, because they are way more advanced in programming and computer science stuff than I am. I can learn a bit from them ?

I haven't noticed people experiencing bad performance with certain parts, and I haven't seen a lot of posts about coil whine.

Yeah it’s just years of learning on the forum and real life scenarios. I love hearing from some of the mods that really know their stuff. It’s a shame though that some like @Lays aren’t super active anymore. He helped me a ton while GPU overclocking. @MageTank Is a memory overclocking prodigy

Not all topics apply though, those might be the ones that are most easiest prone to used in above mentioned kind of way. I do recognize the fact that people are sheep and i'm starting to grow towards an standpoint that i'm certain that atleast 50% of the inhabitants of this world are really plain stupid.
This does not mean i see myself as high and mighty BTW Just smart enough to notice the difference but to stupid to make adequate use of that fact

But your questions are interesting.

We all play our part. That much is true. The thought of interacting with a droid would be oke if you willingy choose for that option. I've heard that bots have been a great help in fighting loneliness with the depressed, not as a social replacement but more as a tool to gain control of the moment. 

I have felt awkward in the past for approaching females as males and the other way around. Most of the time it was because of a dirty mind on my part, or angry because you thought someone else to be female while the other turned out to be male. Finally a girl that is friendly to me ;)  oh no she's a man...

This are ofcourse only situations that could occur in a more private enviroment. But i feel that the above still applies in some sorts when people are unknowingly confronted with bots, and especially if those bots are used to lure peopel in by making use of a "weakness"

My taken ideology "blocks" me in some ways.
There is a focus on perceiving reality as objective as is possible without room for subjective thoughts and feelings, but there is also a focus on accepting oneselfs inner workings and..... on denying bullshit.

From the first perspective all your actions are your concern, if you 'feel' like advicing someone or join in on conversation with avatars in an online world then there is always a risk that the people you are conversing with are not the people they actually represent.
The 2d step would include an inner searching to the birthplace of those feelings
To end ofcourse with the acceptance but also with a conclusion that if you can't be sure about anything then you should remove yourself from that obstruction.

If I could make a bot which posted on the forum all day and it not be super obvious that it was a bot, I wouldn't be spending my time running a forum (the forum is just my side thing anyway, but that's besides the point). Creating convincing content algorithmically is a very hard problem. Everyone on the forum is human, including (most of) the "spam bots".

I just thought the discussion was pretty silly.

 

I don’t see a possibility for the thousands of regular members here all with their distinct style to be a group of six bots.   Sometimes there are spam bots that post content and they easily get banned by the admins.
