Old pre-built upgrade plan

Hi, I would like to upgrade my pc. I currently own the MEDION Akoya P5282 E. It has served me well enough the past 3+ years, but I think it's time for an upgrade.

Current specifications

I don't know the detailed specifications for the case, MOBO,  RAM, SSHD and PSU, but I'll list whatever information I do know.

CPU: Intel i5-4460

GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 960 2GB

MOBO: H81H3-EM2 (MEDION's own mobo and BIOS, I think)

RAM: 1x8 GB 1600MHz DDR3

SSHD: 1TB 7200rpm, 8GB flash memory. 2.5"

PSU: No idea.

Case: Don't know the name, 38 cm high, 18,5 cm wide, 43 cm long.

I bought a seperate HDD because I was running out of space. It's a WD Blue 1TB 7200rpm drive, mounted in the removable HDD rack in the case.

The goal:

1080p60 on the highest settings in all modern games right now, 1080p60 on low in about 3 years. I've been meaning to play Shadow of the Tomb Raider and Assassin's Creed: Oddyssey, but I'm pretty sure my current PC couldn't handle those at 45 fps, even on low settings.

The plan:

Upgrade pretty much everything besides the storage and case. I'm interested in the upcoming AMD CPUs, so I'll have to wait with upgrading the CPU, MOBO, and RAM until they come out. In mean time I'd like to upgrade the PSU, GPU, and I'd like to add a 500GB SSD to the system, on which I would like to put my current Windows license. I've heard changing components can deactivate the windows license. Are there any steps I can take that prevent this or that will help me when it does deactivate the license? I don't believe I was supplied a Windows product code when I bought it. It came with Windows 8.1 installed, which I quickly abondoned for the free Windows 10 update.

I've put together a very rough list of parts. If you see anything wrong or something that won't fit, please let me know. I'm not sure about the form factor of the case. If I have to buy a new case, let me know.

The MOBO and RAM are what I will probably end up choosing for when the new AMD line-up comes out.

Miscellaneous information

I'm not planning on overclocking while the warranties are still valid, however, I may want to down the line.

Not interested in aesthetics.

Thanks for reading!

Thank you for replying!

I honestly don't know.

I'm not sure what you mean with ports lining up. Are you talking about the I/O shield? I was under the impression that you could pop those out.

If it's something else, could you please elaborate? From looking at pictures of the motherboards the layout seems to be the same-ish, but the MSI B450 Tomahawk has more RAM slots, PCIe connectors, and power supply connectors. It also seems to be longer. I'll have to check if that means I have to mount the graphics card somewhere else. Or does it mean that I have to find a micro-ATX motherboard?

Thanks again.

If you are willing to drop down to the ASRock-Pro4, and stretch the budget a bit more. You could get a brand new case to work with, a better PSU and not worry about whether everything might or might not fit.

Thanks for the suggestion, that sounds like a good idea. However, if do end up doing this, I probably won't get that case. Do you have any recommendations for a case without a glass panel?

The case you want to re-use now seems ok to re-use IMHO.  No pictures of the interior though that I could find from google. But judging from the uTAX motherboard  it uses, there should be no problem re-using the case.  If you can open the side panel and take pictures of the side and rear of the case so that folks here can chime in if it's okay or not. :)
