Sound and Display Going Out

Friend is having an issue and I can't seem to get to the bottom of it, it's been happening 2-3 times a day now.

 

The display goes off along with the sound but then the sound returns and the display stays black until the computer is restart.

We tried using DDU to do a clean driver install and all but to no avail. Any idea what's up? She's using an MSI RTX 2080 Gaming X Trio.

did you try swapping the card to a different PCI-E Slot if one is available? Is sound coming from the motherboard or being passed though the Graphics card?

Check Event Viewer Under Windows Logs>System Look for Source Display and see if nvlddmkm stopped responding, this will tell you if the display driver had to reset or the card reset on the bus. If you already DDU and still get this error it would be a card issue. 

Uninstall all the sound devices under sounds, video and game controllers and see if the issue still occurs.
