So my Logitech G502 which is little over a month old is braking down. First I was having issues with scroll wheel not working properly only a week after I bought it. I would scroll down some page and scrolling would get occasional hiccup. Now scroll wheel is simply dead. I don't get any response from it. 

 

A couple of days ago the sensor began having issues. My cursor sometimes wobbles when I move it slowly. It makes playing FPS games literally impossible because whenever I aim, it would randomly go off by a few millimeters.

 

I would really like to hear people who say that Logitech makes the best gaming mouses. I had Razer Deathadder for years of hardcore usage with no issues. My first Logitech mouses did not survive a single month of normal usage. That is just fantastic.

The G502 seems to be a very.. Fragile mouse. While I can mostly say Logitech has good mice - the G502 is one that seems to have more issues than others (mainly with the scrollwheel).

Although Logitech is kind of notorious for double clicking too.

 

EDIT: I do have to mention though the G502 is one of the most bought mice out there, so of course it's more probable to see more complaints about it.

 

Razer mice are actually not really that bad.. They are probably Razer best line of products - although that may not be saying much considering their quality in headphones and keyboards..

Personally I have had better luck with Steelseries mice, but experiences may vary of course.

Warranty.  Logitech makes good stuff.  So does Razer in my opinion.  I have used both for years with no issues.

Owner of a Logitech G502 since November 2017 here.

 

It has one of the most accurate sensors I've used in a mouse (the HERO beats it though), the scroll wheel is smooth in both incremental and infinity scroll modes, and it's a mouse that has been performing just as good as day 1.

 

The only issue I've had with my G502 is the braided cable which warped recently due to it rubbing along my desk edge a lot.

 

You got a defective unit, it happens.

Quality control and probable factory success exists - You may have gotten a good unit from Razer and a bad one from Logitech. It happens. Just contact Logitech and I'm sure they'd send you a new one.

I think you just have a faulty mouse. I have had the G502 since September 2016 (checked my Amazon order history) and the mouse has not failed me once. Still full working order after endless usage.

 

You have warranty on the thing so you return for a replacement

This.  I had a LED problem on my C key, would only do blue.  I called them to get an RMA, they sent me a new one.  Told me to keep the old one too.  My kid has a nice keyboard now, albeit with a blue C key

 

I don't know if I love the keyboard tho, but their CS impressed me.

 

I do like the G502 I have tho, been a couple years now and no issues at all.  RMA it.

Yep!!  I've owned the Logitech G502 Proteus Core since it came out basically in 2014 or something and the only problem that was the fault of the mouse was that the scroll wheel's metal finish bubbled up a little from corrosion from so much usage. Otherwise, the cloth sheathing split because someone in my house twisted the wire up. I've had 0 issues with the mouse otherwise and went on to purchase the Logitech G Pro hero for FPS titles. Maybe the OP got unlucky? But mine has endured some very hard core usage, it's been dropped many times, has seen HOURS of action etc. Same for the G Pro and I've noticed no real degradation of the mouse.

I am the complete opposite... I treat my mouse like a baby, I clean it often, I'm delicate on clicks, and I mouse lift super gently.

I've gotten mine through 250+ hours of CSGO, 50 hours of Overwatch, and a bunch of hours in several hours and like I say, it's still just as good as the day I got it.

Mine's gone thru 2161 hours of Ark Still working perfectly.

Razer is a POS company.  I got their first mouse the Razer Boomerang with a ball.  Then I have owned plenty of their mice and cosmetically they are built well, but you get major problems with their sensitive mice.  If your bass is thumping the mouse cursor starts moving around on the screen and dancing.  Logitech mice don't dance on the screen when bass kicks.. the cursor stays still.  Im against Razer.. FYI, Logitech RMA pownz.  You don't even have to send in your broken one, they ship you a brand new mouse and what not.

The old Deathadder is actually a good mouse, I'm still using a Deathadder 2013 that I got back in March 2015.  It's an awesome mouse and it has never failed me.  Though it seems like their latest revisions are having problems.

This is an exception, not a rule. With that said, unpopular opinion here, G502 is one of the most overrated mice of the decade.

What I'm actually saying is this - People are religiously hating Razer and praising Logitech/Corsair when it comes to peripherals. As it turns out, both sides are wrong because any company can sell you a product that falls apart in less than a month.

I have two, one's a year old and one's 2 months old and neither having been used almost every day, thrown in bags etc, still both fine.

It's not religiously hating Razer, but most of the time when you see someone that doesn't understand that much about laptops or peripherals and ask for suggestions about a Razer product or another brand, people will comment that why pay double for the same result, it's not about faulty components but about what you get for the money

I used a Razer Deathadder 2013 for many years. It was one of my favorite mouse out there.

But the newer mouses from Razer are in my opinion not so great.

The current one i really like are from Steelseries and Logitech.

So an update. I contacted Logitech tech support. After a very quick reaponse from them, they sent me a new one. And as you said, I didn't even have to send them my one which is amazing.

 

I got a new mouse today, works perfectly fine. I hope it will work fine this time.

same happened to me with g402 and now I bought razer deathadder essential and im happy
