Socket still safe to use?

So, apperantly there was sowing needle stuck inside the socket where i plugged in my mac charger. It made a large burst/flash and the power went out. Now this is the result. Tried to take a picture of the charger the best i can, but it appears that the silver metal on the outside has been melted away to reveal something gold beneath. Anyone have any idea if it is safe to use? Cause it still works.

You're fine. Just watch for corrosion on that spot of the plug.

Also, tell the kids in your house to knock it off with the outlets.  Good way to get blackened fingertips...
