Will this HDMI to DVI-D cable work for me? (1920×1200)

I need to connect a laptop (HDMI) to my monitor (DisplayPort/DVI/VGA, 1920×1200, 60 Hz).

 

I believe DVI-D would be best in my case.

 

This is the cable I was thinking of (HDMI to DVI-D Dual Link, 1 meter).

 

It only states compatibility up to 1920×1080 but I think it would work up to 1920×1200, is that right?

Sadly, it's not. You'd need Dual Link DVI for that, and converting HDMI to true DL DVI requires an active adapter which costs a lot more than an HDMI to DVI cable.

You'd better off converting that HDMI to DiplayPort, but even that doesn't guarantee 1920x1200.

It probably would yes. But I've had personal experience with adapters that were rated at 1920x1080@60hz and they DO NOT work with anything higher then that. Also had the experience the other way around, rated at 1920x1080@60hz and working fine with 2560x1080@75hz so it's a gamble, I think you should just try it tbh

I use a similar cable and it works just fine for me. So I'm not sure why it would work

works for 1920x1080@75hz so I would assume it works for 1920x1200@60hz

DVI to HDMI adapters will work at 1920×1200 just fine. There are no electronics inside a DVI-HDMI adapter so the only limiting factors are the devices on each side.
