So instead of trying to figure out a "solution" (using that term loosely) for preparing for Brexit and other important things, UK lawmakers go after porn sites because "muh childrens" or "muh religion."

As an aside. For those outside the UK who are chuckling at the Brexit mess. The Key thing you've got to understand however is that no one in any major power position at the time of the referendum expected the leave camp to get more than a very modest vote. The fact that they actually won has caught them all out for the most part which is leaving a predominantly remain centric parliament with the job of carrying through the actual details of brexit and more than a few just want to outright block it any way they can, and the rest are pretty much struggling with the conflict between  what they want and what they're supposed to be doing which is making them ineffective. In particular i'm left with the distinct impression that there are two or three broad groups within parliament each of which want somthing from the EU that fundamentally the EU is going to say no to. Personally i think the EU forcing a no deal is the only thing thats going to break the logjam because then there won't be anything to argue about.

It was a stupid move, their argument was it was a homebrew DS game, therefore as an unsigned game it was encouraging a form of piracry. It was such an annoying thing to argue he just switched to Virgin Media, ended up saving some money on his Broadband and moved on with his life.

You know what places in the world I have no intention to ever visit? Basically entire Arab world because of backwards mentality there in general as far as society goes. And UK. Because they are basically becoming the western version of Arabs. Thank god they are on their own bloody island so we don't have to build a wall when shit will really go absolutely bizarro...

Who are those morons that thinks it's effective to block something? Here in the Netherlands our ISP's blocked TPB and guess what? I found a much better way to torrent shit, way better than when TPB was not blocked. Anyone can really. Netflix see's abunch of requests from the same IP adress, realizes it's just a VPN server, then blocks all requests from that one IP. At least, that's how it was explained to me. So in reality anyone can do the same thing, but a good VPN always works to get a different server up each time it happens so people can still access that site.

Just like when you cram for a huge exam in the couple days leading up to it after having procrastinated for weeks beforehand, your Parliament seems to be content to dither away the delay period the EU agreed to grant and will probably end up coming up with some half-baked "deal" in a rush towards the end.

 

The similarity can be seen, and just like cramming, what they are doing rarely works in practice. And it most likely won't, to the detriment of the UK's people and the world.
