Whats the difference?

What is the difference between the RTX 2080 and the GTX 1080? I want at least one of them in my PC but I don't know the difference. Which one is better for gaming and streaming?

RTX 2080 has raytracing and DLSS support, and is also a newer card than the 1080, so performs a bit better. 

 

I'd get the 2080 for gaming and streaming because it's just a better performer, and it also has some better encoding stuff from what I've read.

One's newer, one's older. The 2080 is better, however you could also look for a 1080Ti.

You can look up reviews and benchmarks to see the performance differences.

Why do you want one of them in your system, without knowing much about them?

One is 1 newer making it 2080 cause 1080+1 is 2080

 

Just kidding. However only slightly, the 2080 is one generation newer than the 1080 and should receive updates for ~1 year longer, it's also RTX instead of GTX which utilizes "Ray Tracing".

 

If money isn't an issue, go with the 2080.

1080ti's are pretty much out of stock. And those who are not. are priced unreasonably, similar to 2080 prices. Might as well get 2080 at that point.
Assuming used marked is out of the question.

30fps is console FPS so I would say it's technically passable as long as it's 1080p and you lower settings, which basically negates any ray tracing gains

The GTX 1080 is fine but it seems OP isn't interested on second hand Pascal cards but is deciding between the RTX 2080 Ti and RTX 2080 rather.

 

I'd consider more troublesome that OP is getting an overpriced bad Asus - Prime Z370-A ATX LGA1151 Motherboard  for an i9 9900K and an AiO over a DRP4.

i would not use a h100i and a z370-A with a 9900k (just in case), also a ssd instead of a hdd

I meant they're both unavailable new. 1080Ti's are still reasonable on the used market.
