GTX 1070 vs RTX 2060

rans

I can't seem find a render test of this 2 cards competing.
I will mainly use the card for rendering(like blender and after effects etc.) and probably some gaming too. the price of this cards is almost the same here in my place.
I'm just confuse with the memory since gtx 1070 has 8gb but its gddr5 while 2060 has only 6gb but its gddr6.
Thank you.

The 2060 performs closer to a 1070ti in most benchmarks and games. Yes the 1070 has more vram but a select few games use that much vram at settings a 1070 can handle.

Main rig-- Corsair 460x, Asus Strix z270, i7 7700k @4.8 1.3v, Noctua u14s, 16gb 3200mhz Corsair Vengence RGB Pro, Asus Strix 1080ti OC, Samsung 970 Evo 500gb, 2x Seagate FireCuda 2tb, EVGA SuperNova G3 750w Gold, 6 Corsair LL120 RGB fans

HT/VR Mini ITX build-- Thermaltake Core V1, Gigabyte z270n WiFi, i5 7600k @4.8 1.3v, Thermaltake Contac Silent 12, 16gb Gskill Aegis 3000mhz, Zotac RTX 2060, 1tb Inland SSD, PowerSpec 650w Bronze, stock case fans

I think go 2060. It has faster memory and maybe less but better performance and you would get insurance.

I'm on 1060 6gb right now. Is it a good move to upgrade on 2000 series? or just wait on release of newer cards?
