You need it to have enough strength for your PC and the peripherals.

 

For example, if you have a 500W PSU and a monitor that consumes 45W you'd want your UPS to be at least 550W and such units are usually 900VA, 1000VA, 1100VA depending on the manufacturer and efficiency.

thank you for the info what if I have 800w power supply but my rig is only consuming 350w should I still get 1000va?

Just get yourself a Corsair RM550X or similar.

You should still try obtaining the strongest UPS you can since a stronger one will provide power for longer.

He's not looking for a PSU but a UPS.

thank you   broos for the info I just want a powersupply that can keep my pc open long enough for me to shut  it downproperly because power interruption in the Philippines takes 2 to 3 hours  and a backup generator is  to expensive I just want the ups to protect my pc from sudden shutdowns and  fluctuating and unstable surges.
