AMD 50th anniversary special edition CPU & GPU (& motherboard as well)

CiBi

Online retailers have revealed that AMD is going to bring out a special 50th anniversary edition Ryzen 7 2700X and a special 50th anniversary edition RX 590. Expected is that they will be available May 1st.

There is no information on specs at this point but one suspects that they will be higher binned 2700X's, since the name remains 2700X and not 2800X we can expect cache etc to stay the same.

Edit: Apparently there is an special 50th anniversary motherboard as well from Gigabyte. I don't immediately see something special about it though.

Portuguese online retailer PCDIGA has listed the Sapphire AMD 50th Anniversary Edition Nitro+ Radeon RX 590 8GB graphics card for €299.90, or roughly $338.99, on the company's website.

*Gasp* yellow PC parts! Praise!

It's such a shame a 590 is not a huge upgrade to my 580, otherwise I would totally get it .

People actually ditched the i7 8700K to get an i7 8086K

AMD learned nothing with Intel? the same product with a different name and 'LIMITED EDITION" printed on the box and sell it for 80$ more for free profit... I'm disappointed AMD...

Interesting stuff. Maybe they managed to bin the CPU better, also I thought they'd release Vega for it potentially.

But what would be better is if they did the anniversary editions with new releases we'll see soon.

AMD has been dropping the prices on the 2000 series quite a bit lately, maybe they intend to launch the CPU at or just above the 2700X original launch price? Still the timing seems ever so bizarre considering Ryzen 3000.

Hopefully they do something extra than intel when it comes to the CPU. Intel only higher binned an excisting product and changed the label

the highest bins always went to threadripper, so i'm assuming they're reallotting a few of those over to the special edition 2700X towards the end of production?

still feels like it needs more though ._.

Make it yellow and combo it with a hefty cooler. Otherwise its just not interesting enough
