obs ndi

So I stream sometimes on an old i5 3570 and gtx 970 (nvenc) and sometimes when there is too much going on screen, the quality just drops so much that sometimes im not sure what my viewers are watching. I have a laptop with an old i7 2630qm. I was planning on setting it up as a streaming machine so my main system doesn't push itself by gaming and streaming also to switch to software encoding since that's all i plan to do with the laptop.

1. My question is how does obs ndi work?

2. Does it just send my video capture on obs on my main system?

3. How is the audio set up when using the ndi plugin on my laptop? like does it get all my audio sources (captures, mic, and some programs- like discord and streamlabs chatbot)?
