WHAT IS THE BEST CPU FOR MY GT 710

I am thinking of upgrading my cpu and need to know a cpu that will go well with my GT 710 1GB GDDR5. The PC needs to be good enough to play fortnite at playable frame rates.

My budget is 40£ ik very low am only 13. I live in London and my current specs are intel pentium e6300 and GT 710 and 4GB RAM and 164 GB hard drive. I am going to upgrade my motheboard too when I decide on the best cpu.

Yes but I need a cpu that can run fortnite at at least 60/70 fps. I could also upgrade ram to 8GB if required.

You can't run Fortnite at 60fps on a GT 710, even if you put a 9900K on it.

On a 710 you can't play fornite at 60 fps. Maybe if you lower the settings and resolution way down you could but then it will struggle

Mate with a GT 710 you could get an i9 9900K you'll not get to play Fortnite at 60fps.

i already have geforce now

then you have your answer

i mean, you can get a core 2 quad somewhere for a couple bucks, but that won't change it much, as the 710 will be the limiting factor

the gt 710 is to bad, youll need atleast a gt 1030 to get ok frame rates but if your really on a budget get a 2200g or 2400g low settings on fortnite you will for sure get over 60fps

You don't need any upgrades if you play via Geforce now, so just use that.  To get better framerates outside of geforce now, you'll need both a better GPU and CPU. Going for a 2400G Ryzen 5 with 8GB of DDR4 3000 and a B450 board would have you covered.

PC Specs - AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D MSI B550M Mortar - 32GB Corsair Vengeance RGB DDR4-3600 @ CL16 - ASRock RX7800XT 660p 1TBGB & Crucial P5 1TB Fractal Define Mini C CM V750v2 - Windows 11 Pro

I imagine a used HD 7870 wouldn't bottleneck your e6300 too badly (it might...)

You could find one for >40 and it would be... According to userbenchmark: https://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Nvidia-GeForce-GT-710-vs-AMD-HD-7870/m77649vs2161

A 665% performance improvement.

This should give you some perspective as to what everyone else is telling you: Your GPU is where you are hurting. (The CPU is also pretty far behind, though.)

Yeah, your GPU and CPU are a bottleneck, you need to improve both, one alone is not enough.

If your board can handle a Core 2 Quad (not all LGA 775 boards can), you could pick up a Q6600, tape mod it, go up to 8GB of RAM and grab something like a used RX 560, GTX 1050 or GTX 750 Ti. That's probably going to run double your budget, but if you absolutely have to stay on the LGA 775 platform, it's the absolute very best you can do.

Save up a little and buy a 1050ti used on ebay for 80USD and that alone will make your fortnite frames  improve a lot..

Ok, ignore all the people advising you to upgrade your GPu, they haven’t understood about the fact you’re using GeForce now.

Can you post what motherboard / system you have and we can check which processor is the best you can fit on that board.

Also keep an an eye on your local second hand marketplace for full PC systems that can be picked up for cheap with better specs that what you already have, you want to be careful not to spend too much money on upgrading your PC as that will have been money wasted when you finally go to upgrade it.

also what kind of experience are you currently getting with your system?

That would create an insane bottleneck. Also, He's using GeForce now, meaning that his hardware won't exactly help him much atm

He'll never be convinced, will he? Get it through your head. The GT 710 is not a good gpu. Save up some more, and then upgrade the cpu and gpu, as well as the mobo. Also, you're using Geforce now. I could load up a pc with an i3 2330m and an intel hd 3000 and get the same results with that software.
