Ok i notice that this Org https://robertsspaceindustries.com/orgs/LARSSON

Have the same Triangle type logo as we do. 

man we really are far down, kinda surprising considering our numbers.

 

Yeah, I noticed that immediately in the activity list. Should we go to war? No, I'm kidding.

 

I do love what the did to mix the steel-ish template with the star system. Very well done. I think there's subtle enough differences to know who is who off hand, but the similarity is uncanny.

 

Anybody have an idea when they were formed?

That's pretty cool, dang. Makes me think they're an RP organization. Given the post dates I would say December. So they long out live our logo.

 

But, jeez. Even their sayings are cool. “If the dogs start attacking the sheep, it is time to replace the shepherd. You will find a wolf under his coat.” That whole post is very articulated. It's not numbing, dejected or overly serious. Invites roleplayers and casual players alike. And with that much effort put into just a head post it might bring in some hardcore players.

 

Luckily they're incredibly small. Let's hope creativity and writing skills don't equal to leadership.

 

But with regards to our logos, I don't mind having one similar to theirs. But they might. Lot of issues can arise from having similar identifying symbols.

I did better than that this was after a fresh windows reinstall and still the same problem, i've tried renewing the key on RSI profile settings several times.  I'm considering trying one of the chat clients instead, what are the best ones to give a go at?

Regarding the signature, ixi just made a comment about that in chat. I'd be more than excited to have a signature for the RSI and the LTT forums regarding SC. Sure would bring a lot more attention to our group.

 

Currently I can't help but get the idea that we're only big and growing because of Linus, not because of the actual organization. Fame over actual fortune. (SO FAR. I know this will change.). We do keep making statements about the standing of the organization which, in my opinion, are blown out of proportion only because the game is so far out... But in comparison to the other large organization, I only feel like we're far behind the curve. Alliances this early could be very beneficial. We have a ton of people who are steadily active, but most of us are just saying, "Wait until beta or more information comes out."

 

Either way, where our current standing is as an organization... It's a lot of work to set up a proper structure. Especially when we honestly have no concrete details about the actual game. Many of the organizations we've seen so far are either very small and can make huge decisions with just a few emails, or they're massive and have been a formed group for several generations of online gameplay allowing them to not have a democracy but a dictatorship. I'll attribute their seeming success to those two details.

 

We're new and we're unstructured. It'll be a little longer until that feeling dissipates, I believe. But it's more than feasible. And again, that lies on the shoulders of us, the active members. Not just the current leadership.

I think that a alliance would dangerous, the last thing you want is to pick an allie that ends in a unwanted fight with another organisation sorta like a WW1 situation.

I wouldn't start until you have diplomats and politics down in our organisation or strike a unofficial alliance and see how things go.

Absolutely true. Alliances are super tricky. We also don't want to put ourselves into a position where our ally is the only one to gain. There needs to be a mutual give and take between the two organizations. But there's a huge potential gain with gaining an ally. But, again, it's also incredibly risky. They could even betray us after earning our trust. And that's one of the hardest things with an organization this large, "Is it worth the risk?".

 

Then again we could just blow up everyone.... Nah.

 

But this is exactly what I mean, just small banter and discussion on ideas. Keep em coming, keep em coming.

So guys. Uh It seems like my IP's being blocked by their servers. Whenever I try to log in from any computer on campus and my home PCs the RSI servers aren't responding. Now I tried to use a simple VPN and I can access the site from there. Uhm what should I do to get normal functionality back?
