What to do with 3 older servers?

Hi! I have a couple of older dell servers as well as a spare 24 port network switch. But I have no idea what to do with them!

 

I already have a basic NAS PC hooked up to my already in use 24 port switch for data backup for all my home PCs. It only gets turned on if I am going to do a file backup.

(Dual Core, 4GB of RAM, 3TB of Storage) 

 

2U Poweredge 2950

Xeon E5450

4GB of DDR2

Couple of 146GB 15k RPM Drives

 

T300 Dell Tower Servers

Xeon X3353

4GB of DDR2 

Couple of 146GB 15k RPM Drives

 

They are also very loud and unnecessary for my use case. Any ideas what I should do with them?

Far too old to be worth doing much with them, like above have some 'fun' with them

These servers are Core 2 era. Very hot, loud and inefficient. They're not worth anything either.

Sell them. Too old to be used for something. You might get something for them.  Not sure about your location. But You can get around $50 or $150 if you're lucky. for the Dell PE2950. Not sure about the other server.

OP, you could get a 100 to 200 bucks out of them if there fully working The CPU's alone are about 15-20$ etch. If I were you I'd list them on eBay for $75+shipping for etch.

You must live in a weird market. Even one gen newer Nehalem and Westmere based servers go for less than €100 in single CPU 8-16GB RAM configs. These older Hapertown based boxes are given away or go for around €100 when fully maxed out at 32GB-64GB and dual CPU (yay 300W idle :P)

I used to host multiple Minecraft servers and website/forum on a Dell PowerEdge 2950 with 2x E5420, 32GB RAM, 4x 146GB 15k SAS. I paid 400€ for it back in 2013 and it came with 16GB RAM which I later upgraded to 32GB.

 

Core2 CPU's run really cool compared to some newer CPU's like Nehalem.

 

If you don't have any use for them, you can always sell them.
