Unreliable source, and they're claiming it's a permanent exclusive, which doesn't make sense.

I mean have you played Red Dead 1 on PC recently?

Red Dead Redemption is now playable (30 fps give or take) on both RPCS3 and Xenia.

Emulation IS legal. Unauthorized distribution of copyrighted code is not.

So dump your own purchased games instead of getting it from the dark corner of the Internet.

How is the game not being ported to PC even remotely related to the rumor that RDR2 will only be available for purchase through EGS?

Rockstar can be bought for the right price.

gotta be a good price though. If Borderlands 3 does really well then maybe, but they do make the big bucks with their titles so they will be expensive.

The original isn't on PC because they'd have to port it. You obviously have a poor understanding of architecture. You don't seem to understand much of anything you're saying to be honest. You thought emulation was illegal.

And it wasn't ported because?

Yeah emulation is illegal for 99 % of us. You really think people have the games and rip the BIOS?

Because it's a hella lot of work. It's become much easier to port now because two of three major consoles use the x86-64 CPU instruction set. The original Red Dead Redemption was only programmed to run on PPC systems. There's still a fair amount of work involved in porting if you want the game to run well on a wide variety of systems, but it no longer requires rewriting all the low level instructions.

It's not hard to do (I used to write lots of homebrew apps), but that's irrelevant. Emulation is entirely legal. Piracy isn't, but that's a method of obtaining the files.

Rockstar also has their own game store so I'm not so sure about this.

Only time will tell. As I mentioned above, and as mentioned right here ^, we will find out later this month, only 10 days away.

People forget that you can't legally circumvent copy protection on a protected file or format in the United States. Xbox 360 DVDs and PS3 Blu-rays are copy protected and are technically illegal to make ISOs of it because you'd absolutely need to break through the copy protection of the discs.

But not many people care about your bridge. Millions care about RDR2 on PC, so thousands of them are gonna wait for a rumor to be revealed. Myself included. Mainly because there's so many people doubting that RDR2 will never release to PC just because RDR has still not been released to PC. What they fail to realize is that they are two different games. Two different entities. Just like the original, RDR2 will die out on console. And with millions of PC gamers wanting to play the game above and beyond 100 fps, you can bank on Rockstar releasing it to PC. Rumor or not, that will take place. Rockstar isn't gonna just stop making money. And that's pretty much what RDR2 on PC is. Sheer money. The console version exists first to bring console gamers to PC the moment it hits PC. Imagine just how much money Rockstar will make creating a PC gamer from a console gamer. Although console gamers are happy with 4K 30(only god knows why), RDR2 at 100 fps might be something that finally turns them because they gotta be tired of seeing the old west at 30 fps. The horror of the lag has got to be getting to them.

Not sure of the date on this article but it sheds a tiny amount of light on the subject... RDR2 Rumor Probably Fake.

  • The leaker has been wrong more than once.
  • April 22nd has came and went without an Epic Games Store exclusive announcement.
  • Gotta wait for RDR2 coming to PC in 2020.
