Is this £48 GTX960 4GB fake ?

I feel like a fool right now, even tho I didn't buy one

 

So all those sellers are held by one company committing all this fraud?  Seems convoluted but it's right there.

Pretty much 90% of them for sale are fake, 7670's (real ones) were designed for OEM PC's.

It seems like there is a main supplier (probably in China) making these and then shipping them out to scammers around the world, the thing is though how are these shipments not getting stopped at ports?

Even if you find a legit 7670, there is no real reason to buy it. It's just a rebrand of the antiquated DDR3 version of the HD 6670. Modern integrated graphics outperform it. If you're looking for a cheap card to game on, spend $50-70 on an RX 460, RX 560, GTX 950, hell, even a GTX 750 Ti. If you just need an HDMI display adapter for an old PC, spend $10-20 and get a GeForce 210. If you need a 4K adapter, get a used GT 1030 DDR4.

Look for like a Radeon R9 series, they’re cheap and give pretty decent performance.

If it looks too good to be true then it probably is.

Because customs don't know they're fake.

When filling out customs declarations, you don't need to declare exactly what GPU you're shipping (at least last time I shipped something), just that you're shipping a GPU. Therefore they usually have no idea what card you're shipping, whether it's a GTX 1060 or a GTX 560.

It's only if they bother to open it up and try to find out exactly what card it is (and what card it's claiming to be) that they will realize it's a fake, but I doubt that happens often.

It's definitely fake, £20 is way too cheap for it to be a real card.

Things obviously need to change then, far too many innocent people have got scammed by these criminals. I think it's about time people started reporting these fakes to organisations like Action Fraud so that they can take legal action on these scammers and have them prosecuted for their actions, I'm not joking either.

Look for an actual brand name and a respected seller. If it doesn’t have any labels or anything, it might be a fake. (For example, you should see like an MSI Logo or Zotac, something like that) Also, you might see that the seller has no ratings or reviews or even anything else that he’s selling. That could also mean it’s a fake.
