Android & Captive Portal

I am coming across a problem that seems to be different with each android I test. When connecting to a wifi hotspot that has captive portal enabled I will get white display screen with only connectivitycheck.gstatic.com showing. This is on a razor gaming phone. On a Samsung S8+ it gets to the portal page, but does not go to the redirect website that its supposed to after accepting. On a pixel 3 it operates how its supposed to. So I am kinda confused on this since the browser version's match. 

Could I be missing something I have not thought of?
