Building my own rig, Help me pls guys!!!

Go to solution Solved by meneervent,

About your PSU connection question, what I would advice is to plug in the 8 and 6 pin of 2 GPU's into one V700 and the rest into that V1000.

Currently my rig :- Msi Z87xpower (Going to change to Asus extreme VI black edition by next week)
- i7 4700k (change to i7 4960k)
- ram going for 64gb (4x(2x8gb dual channel) kingston hyperx beast
- power supply 2 cooler master v1000
- 1x480 rad and 2x360 rad(push and pull fans if possible)-(2x D5 vario pump)
- corsair 900d
- 2x240gb kingston hyperx beast, 1x120gbkingstonv300 ssd and 1x60gb kingstonv300ssd

So i want to ask. Some people say that the haswell will bottleneck quad r9 290x is it true. I going for lga 2011 there should be no problem right.

Do i have to overclock my lga 2011 processor to keep up with my quad lcs 29 290x. Will there be any bottleneck if i run the lga 2011 processor with stock speed.

im going to use my pc for gaming most of the time and do mining when im away. Is my set up ok. Do i have to concern on about anything. Btw my name is navin and i from malaysia.

I also have a problem. I dont know how to configure the power supply. Wt i mean is should i connect all the 24pin,2x8pin,2xgpu pin to 1 power supply and for the 2nd power supply only for 2xgpu pin. DO i need a better psu. Help me out im still a beginner...

tk for the help guys, respond very fast indeed - not mining and stuff just gaming, currently using 1080p monitor. Waiting for a suitable 4k gaming monitor....btw i was currently fcked but the rampage cause i bought 64gb of memory and there was probably booting; incompatible i think, need to send back shop maybe to flsh latest bios, btw is kingston hyper x beast 2x8gb 2400mhz compatible with asus rampage black edition - seriously just got my parts today...when i just taught of installing windows to my new ssd----fck memory cant boot shit.....

Triple monitor setups can easily be as demanding as 4k

Unless it's triple 1440p or 4k then there is no need for Quad Fire 290X.

Woah! Dat PC. :D

Sorry for spaming! :D

something on topic: do you already have the two PSUs? You could easily power those cards off of a 1.5 kW PSU. -> less points of failure.

The Lepa G1600 is a very popular PSU for miners/ quad GPU setups.

who cares...

This is looks like the build that I am currently planning to build (I am an Nvidia Guy though) in a few weeks. I already started buying the parts. I bought x3 780 Ti with 3 Full Koolance Water Blocks and Full Backplates for 3-Way SLI. I don't know if I should go with LGA 1150 and get the i7 4770K or just go with LGA 2011. I am really leaning to the 4770K, and getting the ASUS ROG Maximus IV Extreme. Well see...

Wait to see if your current setup will bottleneck until you get 2011, and if you do go 2011 get a 4930K

yes, also 1080p @120hz

Crossfire should be fine for that, Tri-Fire if you really want to make sure you get 120fps in every game at max.

Currently planning to get 1 psu probably rosewill 1600 watt or waiting to pre-order corsair 1500 watt psu but corsair didnt confirm the price so delay till may or april.
