Most of you said it would be dumb...lets find out.  Mix those metals, use antifreeze, and buy it all super cheap from Aliexpress.

 

Pump/rad - $23 shipped

CPU block - $12 shipped

GPU block/strap - $4 shipped

Hoses - $3 shipped

Radiators - $13 shipped

Fans - Newegg Arctic F8 (which are doing AMAZING for putting air through this) x 4 $16

Fluids - $2 if broken down to the $18 I spent and how many flushes I can now do or more

 

Now lets see how long it lasts, will report back when/if it fails.  Will report back if galvanic corrosion appears.  Right now need to figure out how to clean this debris out of the block since the rinse didn't get it all without full dismantle if possible lol (lack of time)

You don't have to take it apart to clean but it helps. Reversing the flow could be enough. Go to a local auto part store and get a low pressure fuel filter. Should match your hose well. They will be plastic and see through. Perfect for filtering a loop. Gonna do it to mine as something keeps breaking down.

But if the stuff it big enough to get caught in the micro fins or what ever the blocks have, reversing the flow or taking it apart is the only way to get stuff out.

1 pc looks like its not moving, rest have either moved/passed back into a radiator - Ill give it a bit and then take it apart if I have to - thank you for the advice!

Idle temps up to 40c

Prime95 30 minutes 59c

 

I have a mount issue.  Or a thermal paste issue.  For fun I used the grease that came with my Aliexpress block just to see, instead of committing straight to Grizzly.  Going to tighten it down a crank and see if that fixes temps, if not will take off block, clean it and re-mount with Kryonaut.

 

Unlikely this weekend but still need to get an acrylic panel, cut and mount for see through ugly goodness!

I have a tube already at the ready, plus its amazing imho - Kryonaut took my FX 8350 from 59c to 54c under max load FU stress tests...I swear by it now lol

Havent changed anything on CPU block yet - 1 hour into Prime95 and Heaven Extreme Preset and chill later: 

 

Not bad temps, Im blaming the high CPU (I think its high) temps on the chinesium TIM and likely bad mount.

I've taken the current RAM test results to mean it's at least a 10% upgrade in most cases. I've seen a few videos where it makes as much as a 30% difference. (In Shadow of the Tomb Raider no less.)

The beast isn't finished yet just shelved, you mentioned cable management and I thought...yup needs more.  Going to look for some braided SATA cables etc, need to affix a fan on the GPU to blow on the VRMs, some electrical tape on the ketchup and mustard cables then tucked and still need to do the acrylic side panel, updates to come!

Anyone one up these cables?  Price range is negotiable looking to get round wires is the only real pre-req for cable management.  For price, and....looks (they say "Dwight" to me) lol I don't think they can be beat

Ugly cables arrived - however the website shows them as round wires, they are in fact flat like every other GD sata cable I have.  Well that was a waste of time and 6 bucks or whatever.  Either way Im using them so it matches but...I have like 100 sata cables...its just depressing to have more LOL.  They do not match the pictures AT ALL.  They are sleek very flat wires.

Loop drained, mixing metals is not a problem with science.  Brand new never used radiator purchased at same time on left, 6+ months 24/7 use in a mixed metals copper and aluminum environment aluminum radiator on left.

Im debating cutting up the aluminum block but only have 1.5 blades left for the coping saw.  In the middle of building an FX build but I can cut it up if needed

The only difference is a little moisture in the block that was in use - side by side comparison of one brand new just pulled out the bag vs it (top block for AM4 and various others, bottom for AM3+ and all the LGA in that era):

These cuts were for you @Mick Naughty At first I was like - whats that substance!  Another cross cut and the stopper literally fell out - the aluminum ends are glued in then lapped for uniformness on the block - you can actually see all the end plugs if you look closely from the outside of the block ($3 shipped from china I have no complaints lol)

Based on the corrosion chart I would have to say the same reaction - none - when a proper corrosive inhibitor is applied.  As long as the metals are not touching physically, then the inhibitor can do its job.  Im sure any GPU block for a good card I get will be nickel plated so Ill find out soon enough in person but based on this test and #science Im positive its all good.
