I have a networking problem that is driving me bonkers. My laptop has trouble connecting to my network devices.

For example:
1- when I go on my windows explorer and click on "Network" to browse the devices connected there, it often fails to load and I don't get a result.
2- I have storage connected to my router via USB that I am not able to access from my laptop. I can access it fine from my other desktop computer which is also a windows 10.
3- When I use any software and I want to access my local home network storage, nothing loads under "Network" just as it often fails to load when I click on "Network" on windows explorer.

My objective:

To be able to use my desktop computer as network storage that is fully and easily accessible by my laptop (which i use exclusively now). Including access with the software in my laptop.

I'm open to suggestions and changing set up.

Pleeeease please please help ?
